I really wanted to like the Wetnoz Spring Roll; it is a stylish looking toy with a cute name. Unfortunately, this toy did not work well as a treat holder and did not hold up to even light chewing from my dogs.
The Milk-Bone Treat and Play is a rubber toy designed to hold dog biscuits in the middle. It fits only a limited range of biscuits and it is very easy for the dog to remove the treat. As a chew toy, the Treat and Play will not stand up to a determined chewer.
Darwin the Frog is a cute, durable toy that has been a favorite of several of my foster dogs. He has a good squeak and is fun for the dogs to chew. After enough chewing he will eventually lose bits of rubber and even his squeaker.
This cool looking rubber toy is shaped like a real bone for filling with food or treats. I loved the shape and the dogs enjoyed chewing on it, but it is not durable enough and was quickly destroyed.
When I first saw the Planet Dog Orbo, I immediately knew I would love it. The durability of an Orbee Ball combined with an even better shape, perfect for treating? Unfortunately the design makes it far too fragile for most dogs, and the toy did not meet my admittedly lofty expectations.
I had high hopes for the Zee.Dog Super Banana. It is a cute shape, with a unique polygonal surface, and has the added benefit of holding treats. Unfortunately, my dogs have little interest in the toy once it is emptied of snacks, and the rubber does not hold up well to destructive chewers.
The Gus Ball was a surprise favorite from the first day I brought it in the house. The dogs love it; it’s a fast and easy treat dispensing toy and fun to bounce around even with no treats inside. It is well built, easy to clean, and made in the U.S.A.
The Toppl toy from West Paw Design is a treat dispensing favorite with my dogs. High quality and with a modular design that allows you to adjust the difficulty, it is a favorite with the humans in my house as well.
The Qwizl from West Paw Design is a well built treat holding toy. It lends itself nicely to use by senior dogs or those with limited mobility, but may be too easy for a puzzle-savvy dog.
The Moody Pet Humunga Tongue is a unique dog toy which combines a ball with a long red rubber “tongue” to use as a cute prop in pictures. However, I have serious concerns about the safety of this toy.
Planet Dogs’ Orbee Balls are one of my go-to toys for all sizes of foster dogs. They are soft and squishy so the dogs enjoy playing with them, but very durable and great for powerful chewers. You can play a game of fetch, or insert small treats and use as a treat dispensing toy.
